iOS – Life Cycle

Newer iOS devices store the data in an encrypted form, which means that without the encryption key the data stored on the device would be practically unreadable. When you erase all data stored on the device it destroys the encryption key to the data and since the data is all stored in an encrypted form it could be considered safe to recycle. It would be advantageous to find a recycling partner who could certify the sanitization of the device memory upon recycling.
